Summer will be here before you know it. So naturally, we are dreaming of our summer holiday destinations already! Many families are not sure where to start in planning the best family holiday destinations for 2019, so we decided to do the hard work. Read on to find out the best places for families with children to visit this year.

Best luxury family holiday

If you’re looking for a family holiday to suit everyone, check out the Martinhal resort in Sagres, Portugal. Its luxury hotel and villas will delight parents and grandparents, while five complimentary kids’ clubs cater for children from six months to 17. Everything is designed with families in mind, and only families stay there. So, no more shrinking in shame at a toddler meltdown at mealtimes. The resort has a gym, three pools, a spa, watersports and even a baby concierge. What more could you possibly need?

Prices are around £2600 for a week’s stay for two adults and two children in August. Fly to Lisbon – it’s a 30-minute drive.

Best budget family holiday

If you’re on a tighter budget, check out Cap Esterel Holiday Village.

Close to Nice in the south of France, this is an affordable Riveria family holiday resort with prices starting around £1000 for a week’s stay for two adults and two children in August.

With a spa, golf and over 40 activities to choose from, there’s plenty to keep everyone busy. The resort has kids’ clubs for children from three months right up to 17, plus evening entertainment. The village has its own shops, bars and restaurants, and it’s all pedestrianised.

Best wheelchair-accessible family holiday

If your family needs disabled access, check out the Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife . This five-star resort has 16 spacious bedrooms adapted for wheelchair access. Plus, there’s ramp access everywhere in the resort. Relax by one of three pools with pool-access chairs. Or, simply unwind in your luxury room with free WiFi, iPod docking station and sensory shower.

The resort is situated in a peaceful residential area. There’s also a free shuttle bus available to take you to the Siam Mall and Las Americas every day.

There’s something for all the family, including a gym, spa, entertainment, clubs for kids and teenagers. Fly to Tenerife Sur Airport, it’s a 25-minute drive from there. Prices are around £1625 for two adults and two children for August.

Best all-inclusive family holiday

Costa Brava’s three-star Hotel Ibersol Sorra D’Or has been voted the most affordable all-inclusive family holiday for 2019 by This is Money.  From around £1300 for a family of four travelling in August, you can enjoy nearby water parks, water sports, activities and boat trips. There’s a children’s pool, playground and games room on site to keep children busy throughout your stay, too.

Fly direct to Girona Airport.

Best family holiday for teenagers

If you’re travelling with teenagers this summer, check out the Peligoni Club in Zakynthos, Greece. It has a teens-only bar and a fun-packed activity schedule. Think snorkelling, kayaking and mocktail making.

It’s a family-run resort which also offers a kids’ club for younger ones if you have a larger family with different interests.

Book a villa with extra activities included for around £5000 for a family of four this August, and fly to Zante (Zakynthos).

Things to remember before you book a family holiday

Booking a package holiday is a great way to make sure everything is included. This way, you don’t need to plan each part of your trip separately. However, don’t forget about things that aren’t included. For example, holiday insurance, passport renewals and airport parking.
